Talk and Walk

in Cathy's Blog

Thought I would share this with you.

Over the past year I have found that my ‘bottom line’ has increased in direct proportion to my business. Yes, that bottom. Go ahead  – chuckle all you want.

The reality is that I have more clients and as a professional mentor,it requires spending more time sitting at my desk in front of my computer or sitting in a chair in someone else’s office. A good thing? Not really. I needed to find a way to stay fit both physically and fiscally.

So I started making it a habit to park a distance from my meeting destinations so that I would accomplish at least a small portion of my 10,000 daily steps. It cleared my mind and helped me prepare for the meeting ahead.

I’ve now chosen a local coffee house to have meetings at so I can walk to it rather than drive. When the weather is cooperative, I’m going to adopt Nilofer Merchant’s idea. Grab a cup of coffee and have a listen to this TED Talk.

We may not have a dog to walk but what a great change of pace, a fresh perspective and an awesome way to keep our ‘bottom line’ looking great!
