I Don’t Speak Templatesian

in Cathy's Blog

I’ve been getting more than usual requests to include links to the TCW resource page from supposedly ‘sharing’ and caring individuals. Let me be clear – I do NOT know them nor have I previous knowledge of their company or services.

Now because my brain is wired that way, I’m always looking for an AHA! or sales insight that I can share but they’re vague about what it is and where it’s from so when I do a bit of sleuthing, it becomes obvious they’re selling another company’s product/service.

Here’s what I’ve observed …

More than one of these emails I’ve received have the SAME words, so it’s apparent it’s a form letter in an automated program that someone is selling/promoting and these companies have drunk the koolaid.

Not one of them has actually done their due diligence in figuring out who this email is going to and putting “I’m not sure if you’re the right person to send this to…” in the email really gives me the warm fuzzies. Not.

When I don’t respond, another email is forwarded with the initial email and one of these three statements (and I quote) “Didn’t hear back from you.” “Wanted to circle back on the last email I sent.” “I don’t know if you received my initial email…”

I guess the program they bought forgot to mention… if the first email doesn’t get a response; and the second one is ignored, shouldn’t the next one be different?

Conclusion? Don’t keep sending me the same email!  I didn’t reply the first time based on what I read, so why would I give it the time of day the second or third time around? Stop sending the same sh#t. Change up your message, use a different mode of communication like (wait for it…) actually reaching out in person.

It reminds me of people who keep saying the same thing over and over, speaking louder each time you don’t answer them. (Sorry, I’m not deaf,  it’s just that I don’t speak templatesian …)
