Personal Power – You’ve Got It.

in Cathy's Blog

If you ask Google what “Personal Power” is, you get a wide range of definitions.

According to Suzie Doscher, Life Coach for Personal Development, “Personal Power in non-business language is the strength that lies within you. Personal Power is acquired while growing up, making mistakes, learning from mistakes, making better choices.”

Here’s what I know…

Personal Power is having a personal code of ethics – knowing what’s right and what’s wrong. It’s about knowing what you want and being confident and comfortable with your choices.

Personal Power is knowing your strengths and weaknesses AND being okay with them.

Personal Power is all about being honest with yourself and others; being trustworthy and able to trust.

It is when you are not living according to other people’s standards or beliefs, but to your own.

Your Personal Power becomes evident when you have realized and accepted that you always have a choice – to do or not to do, to go or not to go, to say or not to say, to react or not to react.

Personal Power is about living in alignment with your personal values; living with respect for yourself, being true to yourself and what is important to you.

And here’s the kicker: Personal Power resides in the person NOT the position s/he holds. Got it?
